“I expected nothing less. I am calling about the rain, in South America.”

“Hang on……..My records show there is rain in South America.”

“Of course there is rain–just not enough. They are rationing it in and around Sao Paulo–that’s a city bigger than Los  Angeles and Miami combined.”

“Water can be fickle and drought is a naturally occurring event……. Is there anything else I can help you with today? Might you have time to take a survey? Customer service is my main concern.”

“Many people will not have enough water in the new climate regime.”

“I see. Can you be more specific?”

“Humans are forcing drought upon the planet–because a huge rainforest is being cut up and turned into industrial production units.”

“So what seems to be the problem?”

“John, the atmospheric transport system for moisture is broken in central South America due to a reduction in the size of the Amazon rainforest. Clear enough?”

“I see. So this is a water related problem, is that right, Ms. Gaia?”

“Yes.”

“Hold please and I will get you to the correct department.”

“Yes, I was just speaking to John…”

“I am sorry. I do not handle waste systems. Please hold while I get you the correct representative.”

“Again?”

“Hello, this is Mitch from Corruption Inc. How can I help you?”

“My name is Gabriela Gaia and I am calling to discuss the lack of potable water in South America. I keep sending you people communication about the dangers of messing with the climate and your response is either denial, geoengineering pipe dreams, or I am put on hold. There is a huge climate transformation in process. A worldwide water crisis is step one.”

“I see. Can you be more specific?”

“Too much water in one place–too little water in another.”

“We are here to respond to any problems. Corruption Inc., is a corporate citizen with an excellent green record–check any mass media outlet.”

“Your company has turned trees into pulp and Earth-centric land into factory-fields. You rape the planet for fuel, poison the atmosphere everywhere, and you use the ocean as if it were a toilet.”

“Can you be more specific about how this relates to water in South America? I am the South American specialist for our division here at Corruption Inc.”

“Your company engineered a hostile takeover of the Amazon Basin.”

“Hostile is a strong word. We took over the Amazon because it was a prudent investment. That investment has lifted our stock in difficult economic times. Checking our stock, I see we are still up year over year. Therefore, management considers the acquisition prudent and your concerns pointless.”

“Well your management  has led many to misery,  drought, and economic disaster.  Your management is also accelerating a set of chaotic processes leading to unheard of human misery. Have you ever heard of the Tipping Point?”

“My, that is important. So how is this issue tied to wastewater, Ms. Gain?”

“We are discussing fresh natural water. The water once channeled by the Amazon Rainforest that used to fall from the sky as rain–and that’s Gaia, not Gain. Don’t you know the difference?”

“I do not…In any case, I’d be happy to help you, but I work in the wastewater division of Corruption Inc., Ms. Gain. I have nothing to do with forests, clean water, or health. This issue of yours isn’t  tied to fracking is it?”

“Is that a joke? Those earthquake calls were mine. I am still waiting for a  rational response from you people.”

“I see–you have a lot of issues. Ms. Gaia, this time are you calling us about fracking,  earthquakes, or water?”

“The atmospheric water cycles are under attack by greedy, commerce mad investors. Sao Paulo and California were my first calls to you people on the issue–but you ego-maniacs keep ignoring problems. This call is to find out why Corruption Inc., is ignoring the planet. You morons live here also.”

“Please calm down, Ms. Gain.”

“Where are you located?”

“La-La Land, North America.”

“Don’t you know this affects you too? Do I need to leave stronger messages?”

“Threats will not be tolerated, Ms. Gain. Besides, I need to get you to our clean water group for resolution of your issues. Hold please.”

“Ms. Gaia, the group handling clean water for Corruption Inc is based in Atlanta and they seem to be out to lunch. This is Ronnie, the administrative assistant. Perhaps you would like to leave a message. If you will just…”

“Stop. What the heck is the matter with you people? Do you know the poor of a major city live days without potable water–other parts of South America as well? And you ninnies are next.”

“There is no reason to take that energized response, Ms. Gaia. We here at Corruption Inc., are here to help you. On the other hand, the poor are not stockholders so they can just go to hell. Have you considered telling the poor to use another supplier for water? It is a worldwide free market system.”

“There is no other option–so long as the monopoly of Corruption Inc., is running business and government.”

“Don’t ya’ love the free market system? So how can I help you?”

“Who at Corruption Inc., is responsible for the clean water supplies in South America, specifically the Amazon?”

“That’s a very complex question, Ms. Gaia. I will need to research that. Let me put you on a brief hold–say until 2030…”
