From The News
…President Trump said that he is seriously interested in putting solar panels on the wall. “There is a chance that we can do a solar wall,” he said. “We have major companies looking at that. Look, there’s no better place for solar than the Mexico border — the southern border…”
Estimations of how much energy a solar border wall would actually produce vary, depending on the size of the array and the wall itself. But some companies are already imagining what it would look like…
Oregon-based solar installation firm calculated that a wall with 10-foot-high solar paneling would generate approximately 7.28 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity each day. (From Yahoo News)
Something tells me those panels will never be installed. This is “The Wall” as I envisioned it on one of my books, a few years ago.
I have been asked over and over why I sloped the wall to the south–thereby making it easier to climb. Finally I can answer…Buy-in.
As previously noted, it didn’t start with Trump.
