A portly figure enters the stage from the right. He sports a dark blue suit, white shirt with a red, white, and blue striped tie. “Good morning, my name is Jones. I am the Chief Executive Officer of EI. As is the custom in all of the EI&FFC briefings, dissension, disagreement, and difficult questions will not be tolerated. Attendance in our briefings is a privilege. Treat it as such.”

Jones shakes his head back and forth. “No single event can be tied to global warming? How absurd. What will they buy next?” He grins. “The future is now. We must adjust.”
My point here is our media machine must start using, ‘These are the good ol’ days!’ Catchy, right?” The sign above him flashes applause. The apparently enthusiastic audience responds correctly. Jones beams a bright smile. He is pleased, raising a manicured hand to stop the applause. Quiet follows.
Jones tilts his head and smiles.
His smile vanishes. “When the climate goes fully chaotic it will all be an order of magnitude worse. We remember the term tipping point, right? I have a tipping point for you all.”
“Consider intensifying storms hitting the same location over and over. Infrastructure damage will be immense after storm two. By storm three, commerce with suffer as rescue and repair takes precedence over equities.” The audience murmurs its disapproval. “Silence!” Quiet owns to the venue, the lease held by Jones.
The audience nods its approval. Jones smiles back at them. “Let’s consider the future. We are, above all, men and women of vision.”
The audience is silent.
He leans forward, his arms crossed.
“No single event can be tied to Global Warming? How about a huge drop in revenue? Bids for resilient industries will be taken at the green desk. Minimum bids are two billion US. Thank you for your time and attendance. Have a profitable day.”
